question about boost controllers
will a boost controller allow boost to go under the factory wastegate setting? for example, if i had a turbo where the factory wastegate was set at 10psi, would a boost controller allow me to go down to 5-6psi? also is a manual boost controller reliable? i have heard people say that they dont work well compared to an electronic boost controller.

Re:question about boost controllers
Boost controllers only add boost. Your current psi becomes your baseline. I don't have one myself, but I've read that they can decrease the spool up time.

Re:question about boost controllers
they do nothing to help spool up time

Re:question about boost controllers
not entirely true. your wastegate starts to open up at a lower psi than what it is set for. with a boost controller, it will keep the wastegate from opening up until the desired psi is reached. so it does help spool up and boost response.
