Okay guys my set up is this:

d16a6 bottom end
d16z6 head
Nissan T3 (.60/.63)
2" chargepipes
FMIC
internal wastegate set at 4 psi stock and manual boost is at 10 psi..

this is the dilema:

It starts to spool at like 3200rpms and doesn't reach full boost till about 4800rpms, is there something wrong with my wastegate or something? i mean even a few people said even tho its a bigger turbo on a smaller engine, it should still reach full boost at ~3500-4000rpms.

i guess i'm really wondering if theres something wrong with the wastegate or its really just that big and it won't spool till that late?!

wastegate flapper and arm are good... checked that too many times!!! no vacuum leaks, no chargepipe leaks.

thats a really ------- big turbo for that small of an engine. it'll have fuckloads of lag
even if your intake system and exhaust is super unrestrictive it'll still take forever to spool.

 

tell me about it, full boost at 4800 rpms!!!, sucka rips when it reaches it tho! :P
