pump gas
aem EMS, Td05H, built D16z6-what is a high, yet reliable psi before you have to start using more than 93 octane for a daily driver

Re:pump gas
10-12 with NEAR PERFECT maps should be ok.
because you have standalone (AEM EMS) you can get away with a little more psi cuz u can retard timing anyway you'd like. in Canada here, we can get 94 :P |
Re:pump gas
i can get 94 in PA... :P
damn canadians think they are special 8) |

Re:pump gas
What station in Pa? Is it a Race Trac? Awhile back they were selling 98 octane, I used to put it in my 2G RX-7.

Re:pump gas
Hell, I was excited to see 93. I guess since HMT came around, every body is doing the turbo thing; then before you know it, every gas station carries 93, but speedway still has the engine-blew-92

Re:pump gas
i can get 100 unleaded and 114 leaded octane here in hawaii ;D ;D
but its like 6bucks a gallon |
Re:pump gas
The gas station 1/4 down the road (how convenient a distance :-) Has 94 for $1.59/gal. I'm sorry, CA gotta suck.

Re:pump gas
i get a hookup on 101 in washington for 1.70 a gallon
|
Re:pump gas
i don't know about you guys but some of the old school hot rodders use moth balls to raise the octance . It sounds funny but its a real old school and cheap way to do it. Unfortnately not really a way to measure it ,they usually go about 2 moth balls for about 10 gallons. But if you have a plastic gas tank do not throw the moth balls in your car. Do it in a seperate container cause it will blow up a plastic gas tank.

Re:pump gas
Shiet, I run 118 at the track :) its only like 6.50 a gallon.. LOL
As long as your fuel setup is stable (and something to control your spark), you can stay on pump gas for quite awhile.. well over 12psi. Jeff |
Re:pump gas
It's all in the tune. I am running 12 psi on 93 octane on my V8, with hypercraptic pistons.
----, she loves da boost! Running slightly fat (don't ask exact numbers, haven't logged it yet. Using a digital a/f gauge). Also pulling 1 degree per psi with a MSD BTM. No signs of detonation on the plugs (remember reading plugs? Yeah, old school! ;D ) |
Re:pump gas
dude i like hypertenic or however its spelled pistons... but thats for NA apps :P
