What is the most boost anyone has tried on a D16A6, without spilling its guts? Lets say on a fresh rebuild (factory specs)

News Flash- 8 psi is not the same 8 psi on a T15 as it is on a T25 as it is on a T3 as it is on a T4 as it is on a Holset/Cummins as it is on....nevermind.

You gotta get this PSI ---- out of your head and start thinking in lbs/min, m³/min-CFM.

Nevermind, I'm going balls deep and you won't/don't understand at this point.

They don't understand now but they will later, hopefully. When they get a feel of how everything works together and why. Instead of just reciting bits and pieces of things they read on forums trying to sort through whats bullshit and whats not ( Because if your searching on the Internet for automotive related content there is allot of bullshit ) but they'll figure it out sooner or later... hopefully. and if you really wanted them to learn it. You could say something like

Psi is just the amount of pressure in the system, It is not necessarily related to how much air is going into your cylinder as different turbochargers will not produce the same amount of airflow at the same psi. Although it is somewhat hard to put into words. Think of it as like shaking up a coke can and a champagne bottle, say they both have exactly 6 psi inside the bottle once the bottle of can is opened the champagne bottle is going to expel more liquid out of the bottle than the coke can, but its at the same pressure ratio. PSI (Pounds per square inch) is a measurement of density, CFM (Cubic feet per minute) is a measure of velocity, A compressors ability to move a certain amount of air at that psi range. While both turbos are making 8 psi through the charge pipe, up through the intercooler, down the intake manifold (at wide open throttle) and against the valves. 8 Psi in the charge system is not the same as 8 psi in the cylinder. If you have a turbo that flows more air, the reason why its going to make more power is because at this said 8 psi it will be able to force more air past the intake valves while they are open than a smaller turbo. In turn giving your engine more air to compress on the compression stroke. More air to compress on the compression stroke = more oxygen, higher compression, the ability to burn more fuel , and more power. That's about as much as i feel like explaining it right now. And there is no exact level you can push your motor too, its more of your power goals and how willing you are to blow your motor up.
