Projekteg's Turbo Integra

As some of you may remember, I purchased Projekteg's 94 Integra back in November for the purposes of using it to design a complete Integra turbo kit.

I started on the turbo project this weekend with the idea of completing the project and selling it. The completed car will have an 8" FMIC, stainless intercooler piping, log manifold, Garrett T3 turbo, 380cc fuel injectors, Volvo BOV and VAFC fuel controller. I'm planning on offering it to HMT members first for $3500.00 complete. The body will be flat black primer, and I may put a new set of tires on it - I haven't decided yet.

Here's some pics of what I've done so far:

http://www.geocities.com/speedpartsrus/integra.jpg

http://www.geocities.com/speedpartsrus/integra2.jpg

http://www.geocities.com/speedpartsrus/integra3.jpg

As you can see, I got the intercooler and all the piping done today, and I have started on the manifold. I should have the manifold and the turbo on tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have the whole project done by this time next week.

When it's all ready to go, we'll have pictures of the complete car, interior, under the hood - etc.

Just a heads up in case anyone is interested but might need to get the money together. If no one on HMT is interested, it's going on Ebay.

Thats a 94 with that style headlight? Or does that have the JDM ITR conversion? Turbo kit looks like it's coming along great! Where are you from Custom Coach? I can't remember.

I would love to keep it, but I am going into a new shop in March and I need the money. The costs of renting a shop are killer. First and last months rent up front, phone, power, new work benches, more lighting, the list goes on and on. Plus all the new equipment I want/need to get like a lift and a bender so I dont have to depend on others to bend my pipes anymore. ;D

Re:Projekteg's Turbo Integra

Just an update on the progress. I got the 440cc Ford injectors mounted(more on this later, after I get it running), The manifold, down pipe, oil supply and return. I am still waiting on my new turbo center section and s-afc out of Tokyo(JDM, yehh I know ::)). I am only working on this on Saturdays so its going slower than I had hoped. It should be done this time next week with pics and info.

I wonder why I never saw this thread before? ???

Looks nice. I was wondering what you ended up doing with that Teg. Too bad you are so far away from me. I might have been interested in taking it off your hands. ;)

That would be perfect, the title is still in your name. With all the new parts and all the stuff that I have fixed on the car, you couldn't do it yourself for this price. If you figure on going out and buying a car to turbo and then buying a rebuilt turbo, intercooler, stainless piping, silicone couplers and clamps, manifold, downpipe, oil lines, air filter, injectors, fuel pump, s-afc and all the nuts and bolts and little parts plus your time and labor you would spend as much if not more. You could go cheaper if you went with a lot of used parts and a D series with a HF manifold and all the ghetto stuff like exhaust tubing for charge pipes and hardware store couplers and bolts but why when you can have it done right. ;D

it's a 97 b18b (i hydro locked the original b18a). the engine has roughly 60-65k on it and the body has about 202k if i remember correctly. the interior is mint! no tears, burns, cracks, etc. the swap was done about 3k miles ago (assuming that anthony (custom coach) hasn't put many miles on it, but it's still registered in my name, so i don't think he's drove it too much ;)). anthony's work is quality so one thing is for sure, whoever gets it will have a practically brand new b18 with a nice ass turbo kit!

wtf does that have to do with this post? it's a smart thing to do if you have rust/body damage etc. and want to take care of it but don't/can't afford (or in custom's case, no point in painting it b/c he's about to sell it) a paint job.

Its a Volvo unit with a SS air horn added to make it loud. These are realy nice adjustable units. You can play with the adjustment to get it to open when you want it to, or you can crank it down to hold lots of boost. Everybody is in love with the first gen DSM BOV but I like these better.

It's OK if its primer over paint(like in this case) primer over bare metal is a bad idea, lots of surface rust. I plan on taping off all the shiny trim around the windows and down the sides and primering the rest so it will have that clean contrast between bright and dull black. It should look good. It will look a lot better than the current paint job that is faded scratched and touched up all over.

Re:Projekteg's Turbo Integra

I finally finished putting everything together today. Here are some pics of the finished product. I still have a little more work to do, but I took it out for a test drive tonight, and everything is running good. I'm only boosting about 6 lbs to start with as I don't have a boost gauge or an air fuel meter. Everything went together great with no exhaust or oil leaks.

As you can see in the photos below, everything is stainless steel - oil supply and return, downpipe and all the intercooler piping. There are before and after photos of the turbo. That is NOT silver paint. I just got a new sandblasting cabinet ;D ;D, so I bead-blasted everything. It came out very nice. With the cleaned housings and the new center section, the turbo is as good as new.

I still have a couple of things left to do mechanically, as well as a good clean up. I still want to prime the car. Then I'll have pictures of everything when I'm done in a couple of days. I would say if anyone is interested in buying it, the car is ready to go.

No, I need to sell the whole car. But I will buld you one just like it. I want to do another install on a stock car with A/C first. I got this car with the idea of using it to make kits for the secong gen Integra. Unfortunatly I didnt think about it having a B18b and no A/C. The throttle body is in a different spot on the B18a and the B18b looks taller. I want to make sure it will clear A/C also.

strange looking oil return, is that flexible metal tubing? isn't it a little close to the downpipe? nice setup though.

This is the same stuff Ford uses on all there turbo cars. Its indestructable you can get it right on the exhaust and it wont hurt it.

It run great. I am only running 5 PSI right now but it pulls hard. I took a friend out for a ride the other night and he said it felt like his WRX.
I cant believe no one on here wants this car for this price. Its below blue book with out the turbo.
