Damn, can't beat a free turbo.

I think I found my new project today. I went to a friends house and he had this goped type thing that looked like a mini-Harley! It was sooo bad ***. I guess the guy he bought it from has a catalog with all kinds of them. I'm thinking of boosting the ---- out of one of those. It has turn signals, horn, head light, disk brakes up front, chain driven, and it's 100% street legal. The speedo goes to like 25, but I'm sure with 10 or 20 pounds of boost it'll do a buck thirty.

I'm going to post some pics next time I go over there.

2 strokes are differnt, Lots of people are running turbo cummins diesel turbos on 800cc sleds around here. I dont know why they spool because the turbo is about 3/4 of the size of the 800 but ---- do they go!! The only thing I can think of is because 2 strokes waste so much fuel(out the exhast) that the exhast is hotter and still expanding in the turbo?? I had thought of putting one on my escape(polaris 800) but I think a big bore kit will work better.

nothing can beat the power to cost ratio of forced induction.

Theres no electrical system on a Banshee besides a stator and I don't think that will produce the power to turn a motor. I'm hoping these enough power to run a fuel pump and oil pump without rewinding the stator

i want to see the other side of the bikes in the pics.

that single pipe conversion is fucked looking..

how do you know where to put the turbo on the pipe? (since 2 strokes run by how the pipe is chambered..)

or since it's all been done before you just copy someone elses design?

i'm really curious.

yeah, you might need to rewind the stator and add a battery to run your oil pump & fuel pump.

or, just a thought, you know those bicycle lights that genorate power via the resistance on the wheel? how about a genorator that runs off the chain..

er, nevermind, bad idea, you wouldn't get any oil / fuel when the bike wasn't moving.. icky.. hrm

1. no I'm not going to copy anyone else's design, everything I do is original.

2. I'm not using a single pipe conversion, I really hate them. I'm using Toomey T5 expansion chamber. Expansion chambers do end and at the end of the expansion chamber is where the turbo will be.

3. I'm not putting a battery on, thats unnecessary. I'll find out if it needs to be rewound after I put everything on and test the efficicency of the electrical system

If Im not mistaken expansion chambers will be pontless
with a turbo in the system because the turbo is a restriction in the system. The expansion chambers work on
pressure pulses to draw out (scavenge)the combustion chamber
if a turbo is at the end of the expansion chamber that process is stopped. You dont see expansion chambers on
2 stroke turbo trucks.

Maybe I missed something

You maybe right. I was originally going to mount the turbo at the front of the motor and get rid of the expansion chambers until I seen that these guys are still using them and making 200WHP. If 4sillypwr sends me that other turbo I'll try it on my Banshee without the expansion chamber and see which is better
