Default Project Turbo Yamaha Banshee

Alright I finally convinced my friend to let me build a kit for his Banshee. Its a 350cc twin cylinder 2 stroke 6.5.1 compression if you didn't know. we're using variable jets and a fuel pump for fuel management. The plan is 4-8psi. Here's the big question, will an RHB5 be too big for this motor? I'm not talking about the RHB52. If anybody has the specs for the RHB5 and the RHB52 I'd appreciate it. Also if anybody knows of any good forklift or lawnmower (dixie chopper mainly) turbos

This is the difference between the RHB52 and the RHB5. And I thought the 2 RHB52's I put on my civic were small

OMG, sorry I can't help you with your questions, but holy ---- that thing is going to be crazy! I'll test it out in Glamis next weekend for you.

I figured you'd like this project. I was going to do it to my Banshee but I don't have the money. This project is pretty simple I just want to use the right size turbo. I also need to find an electric oil pump because its 2 stroke

Hmmmm....I wonder if that gear oil is going to be ok for the turbo? Or are you going to build a seperate oil system? A friend of mine just bought a Raptor and he wants to boost it. It's so much easier on a 4 stroke Raptor. It has an external oil tank with lines running to it from the crankcase. That would make things so much easier. He's looking for a kit though. I bet they go for $2-$3000 when you can just make your own for a couple hundred.

Yeah a raptor would be easier with the external oil tank. I was going to put an oil tank kinda underneath and in front of the turbo and use like a 20 psi oil pump. The Banshee will be easier to tune becuase of less moving parts / less ---- to destroy and I don't need to worry about timing at all.

Those kits are like $2-3000 and I only know of one company that makes them. I'm going to act like I'm buying one so I can get the a/r's of the turbo.

I also seen a complete bolt on fuel injection kit for a Banshee. I'd pay some good money for that becuase that would be badass.

Damn, you're going ot make me wanna buy a Banshee now.

You might as well just try to run that turbo you have and see what happens. We're talking about a ~350cc motor and a turbo that spools almost instantly on a 1500cc motor. I think it will work, but it might have some lag. You don't bog a Banshee anyways, so that would be perfect. The top end would be insane. Where does a Banshee rev at? 8000rpm? I'm sure it will spool that tiny *** turbo by 6 or 7 grand.

I don't have an RHB5 yet, I got that picture from a website. I have another RHB52 but I know that is too big. I'm pretty sure the Banshee's rev above 10,000rpm. Another good thing about a 2 stroke compared to a 4 is that there is twice the amount of exhaust pulses and will probably spool faster than a 2 stroke.

i would go with a 9b (half of a 3000GT/Stealth twin setup) that thing looks to be about perfect for that motor.
