and does it start with the stock ecu? if so all you should need is to wire a constant to the fuel pump and maybe a fuel pump switch in the middle so you lessen the chances of it getting stolen. but if the fuel pump doesent work that makes me think what else could be wrong with this chipped ecu?

Please don't listen listen to this. Makes no sense at all.

Just answer my question first.

i've tried the chip on another p28 that i know is good and still the same thing.i've also tried two harnesses.one i was fishy about but the other brand new.when i put my stock ecu in it does start and just putters cause of the new injectors..when i was running with out the new ecu i had check engine light on but i also had it on when i had just the header on..now when i put my old ecu on there's no ecu, maybe it'll kick in eventually but with my new ecu a CEL comes on..just stays on and seems not as bright as it should be like the light is dying

Ah I knew. HX stikes again.

All HX's are use the OBD2A. Yes, that means 99 and 00 still use the OBD2A pin configuration on the plugs. Get the right conversion harness.
