Problem

As i was hooking up the T for the oil pressure switch and lines, almost half of the trending broke inside the engine block, if you guys have some ideas with that, please help out. As if nothing could get anything worse while i went to the muffler shop to weld the turbo and manifold together, the guy said it would work but not for long, because the heat and pressure would crack my stock manifold. i will be running 5~7psi and i see in the turbo projects that you guys still use the stock manifolds. Do i have to spend alot of money getting a custom built turbo manifold or can i still use my stock one?

Car is a 98 Civic LX with no mods.

Re:Problem

first off what fitting did you use for the oil.. you should have gotten the bsp which threads right in.

Welding to the stock manifold will probably not last unless you support the turbo very well. If it has to hold any weight it will crack.

Re:Problem

try a screw extractor to get the broken fitting off.

for stock manfolds people are using the CRX HF manifold or a 92-95 CX manifold..

check out the turbo projects pages for more info.

Thanks for the advice. As for the fitting i used the very same fitting that Adam used in his 14b D16z6 civic for the oil. Again thanks for the help. I already have the screw extractor and will try it later peace.

Re:Problem

Spray some PB on it and extract it with the scre extractor. If I was you I'd grab the fitting "tuner toys" made. Used it on my setup flawlessly.

Re:Problem

oh man that sucks.. was it just a brass fitting? how did you break it? the tap/pb blaster will get it out of there.

you should be able to pick up a hf manifold for $20-40 and then make an adaptor plate with a drill press and cutting torch. or get one made at a machine shop or get one in the classifieds.

make sure where the exhaust exits the turbo it wont be directly pointing at anything plastic or that can melt.. its like 800+ DEG!
