probe intercooler

First off there is oil residue in the intercooler. Is that a problem? The intercooler that I didnt get was real bad I unpluged the bottom hose and oil ---- started pooring out of the bottom. Second question has anyone mounted a probe intercooler without modifing it? Third would jb-weld hold up to something like moving the intake ports and closing off the old spots?

Yes, that means the turbo was showing signs of blowing oil out the compressor, probably time for a rebuild. If you wish to use the intercooler, fill the intercooler with warm water and some degreaser and get that ---- out.

Our first d16z6 hatch project we used the probe intercooler, but it sat extremely close to the turbo itself. Best to modify the end tanks.

JB weld is ------- ghetto, I really dont care for it, maybe for small things, but nothing like end tanks, personally I would try to find a custom fabrication shop that can weld aluminum and get them done their.
