Pressure Ration, Airflow and all this compressor maps, need help
hi
i am from germany and it semms that this board can help me a lot. at first, i have a honda civic coupe D16z6 and a complete rebuild engine in it with 9:0 turbo pistons, Eagle ESP rods, complete new valvetrain (a little bit ported), stock Crank, stock Cam, Blockguard installed. at this time i drive without a turbo but the turbo is behind me and i will put that thing on it. the turbo is from a nissan S13 1,8 liter engine. i have new, 450ccm injectors, a "ready to chip" p28 obd1 ECU. i have no wideband !!! now to my questions. i have a compressor map from this turbocharger and i do not understand some things. i know what pressure ratio is but i dont know how much air flow come out of my engine... Ps: have anyone tested the uberdata rom editor ? thats my next problem :( |
Re: Pressure Ration, Airflow and all this compressor maps, need help
I use uberdata on my d16z6 with a P28, works great ;)

Re: Pressure Ration, Airflow and all this compressor maps, need help
whats about the turbo ? is it good for the d16z6 ?
do you have a basemap for me ? must i change my MAP sensor ? i will drive 12 psi (i think the turbo is set to 12 psi) |
Re: Pressure Ration, Airflow and all this compressor maps, need help
maybe this can help you
The volume air flow (VAF), measured here in cubic feet per minute (cfm), is a linear function of engine displacement (here in CI), compression cycles per minute (RPM/2), and volumetric efficiency (VE), as shown in the following equation. VAF = (CI/1728) x (RPM/2) x VE |
Re: Pressure Ration, Airflow and all this compressor maps, need help
ok, it seems to me that my engine have a air/flow ratio of 30 lb/min (406 cf/m) ?? is that possible for a d16z6 ?
the turbo puts 12 psi at ???? RPM from some basemaps from garrett is a gt2860 a good choice for the d16z6 engine. a gt2560 seems to me too small. i think this gt2560 cuts up before the RPM on the limitter. someone tells me, the nissan s13 turbo is like a t3 .48 A/R. is this correct ? please tell me when i am wrong. edit: i have found that: 1 HP approx equals 1.45 CFM so my car has 125 HP and than it must have 181.25 CFM so it must have an Air flow Ratio of 13,50 ? then is this gt28 much too big. i am confused abaout this Airflow an Pressure. Pleas help me out :( |
Re: Pressure Ration, Airflow and all this compressor maps, need help
post up the compressor maps your using, and what you used for Volumetric Effieciency numbers.
i can try to help you out |

This also has a lot of helpful information. Taken from the FAQ.
http://www.stealth316.com/2-3s-compflowmaps.htm This place as well: http://www.turbomustangs.com/turbofaq.php As well as this site: http://forcedinductions.com/help.htm And if you're even more interested after those, then Maximum boost and a few other books are helpful. |

thanks for this links, that helps me a lot.
i think that the nissan T25 A/R .48 a little bit too small is for me. i will try a A/R .60 T25. my goal is 250-280 HP. |
