Power cut at 5grand and up

I can't really notice it in first or second, only because they rev out so fast, but when I get into 3rd, it pulls hard until i get to about 5000 rpm all the way to redline. Doesn't jump or anything, just feels like it lost power. You can definitely feel the loss in power, but it still sounds the same. Allmost like it is losing boost, but the boost gauge still shows full boost. Could this be a silent misfire, or even a fuel issue? Thanks

Pete

Doubt you will know much about my motor, but i'm just trying to get a ballpark idea. Its the 2.4 dohc motor (gm). Turbo is a .48/.60

sounds like fuel issue, like you're running rich. do you have a wideband? you have vtec? what engine management are you using?

a 2.4l DOHC w/ a turbo that belongs on a 1.6l SOHC might be a part of th problem

yeah did you check the compressor maps on that turbo before you mated it to your motor, sounds to me like you are running out of breath on the turbo, you will have the same amount of boost, but that turbo will only blow so much before its out of breath, and on a 2.4L that could happen pretty quick, hell a .48/.60 turbo begins to run out of breath a bit on a 1.8l dohc so its def. cheaping out on you

check timing, make sure your cams are lined up correctly on the belt

lol, reading owns me :P either way a .48/.60 wouldn't be running out of air at that low of rpm, and you wouldn't really literally feel it losing power all of a sudden, sounds to me like it's running really rich right there.
