Default Potential USE for a chrysler housing?!

Ok so i was cleaning out the attic today and found this compressor housing from what i think to be a chrysler version of a t3
i found this piece that bolts directly to it and noticed it had a line fitting on it....
WELLLLL

Here's the question....is this not a good potential spot for pre-turbo vacuume source?
I'd have to JB weld the big hole that is covered with my hand in the picture, but I figured maybe the nipple coming off may have originally been
used for that? I'm completely unfamiliar with it but I am contemplating on using it just because it's a 90 degree elbow that would allow me to re-route my intake pipe in a better direction
