please tell me about 2nd gen DSM BOVs.
They're plastic right? I've heard from some they suck... but what does that mean.
I've read that they hold stock boost levels fine (less than 15psi or so) and only tend to leak when you run high boost (high DSM boost like 20psi +). Any comments? I still don't know a lot about BOVs, but are these vacuum actuated from the intake mani.? Also, there's no problem with venting this to the atmosphere right? (Just don't recirculate the vented charge?) -Icarus |
Re:please tell me about 1st gen DSM BOVs.
1g DSM BOV -> Good
2g DSM BOV -> Not so good b/c they are plastic BOSCH POS! that about sums it up. 1g DSM BOV can be crushed to be held higher levels of boost... Otherwise do a quick search for info on BOV... You'll find more info on it... |
Re:please tell me about 1st gen DSM BOVs.
Searching seemed to only bring up people talking about how great 1st gen BOVs are. Since I'm planning on less than 10 psi initially, I might try a 2nd gen cause I can pick one up for super cheap and I can't seem to find an unmolested 1st gen for less than $50-$60.

They start leaking boost big time after 14psi. :-\ Sixty for a 1g bov! Look around thats about 30 dollars too much for it , My two cents.
