pipes... are exhaust fine?

so i was thinking... it would be VERY hard to look around and try to find all the pipes i need in a timely manner... so i was wondering... would it be ok to go to a local muffler shop and just use whatever stainless steel they have?

and if anyone is in the WA state area(around seattle) do you know where I could buy some pipes and couplers?

i am doing the same thing now.

couplers, home depot in the plumming section by the piping. the hd couplers though are a little weird. the 2"-2" are 2.5-2.5, so you gotta get something a little smaller, you will know what im talkin about when you see it. ;)

pipes, your local muffler shop

yes, exhaust pipes are fine. i mocked my pipes up using pvc then just took it to the exhaust shop and had them bend pipes

I had our local shop bend me 6-90's, 1-45 and got a peice of straight pipe and cut it all up to make mine.

If you are picky like me...you can use some 180 drgee mandrel bends, and cut them up to make your charge pipes. I called around to local exhaust shops and was surprised to find that alot of places have them sitting on the shelf. Some even had stainless ones. In case you didn't already know, mandrel bends have no kinks in them and the inside stays almost perfectly round though the bends, it makes them flow a little better. But it really is splitting hairs. Just my 2 cents. ;D

the thing is that once we start chomping on my bro's focus i don't want to have to slow down just to wait for a pipe to arrive in the mail...

i'll check the muffler shops around tho

Yup. I just got (5) 2 1/4 inch U bends and a straight piece of mild steel from summit for like 60 bucks. That's my charge piping.

Hey so do you guys think that this kit by Tuner toys would be good enough to complete the charge pipes for a d16y8 setup?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

and i could just connect all the pieces with couplers once i cut them?

Too much money...go summit or JC (might be worth it if it was stainless)
