it aint gonna fit on a normal t3 flange.... you have to mill it so it will be flat out.

i need to do it tommorow....btw. but it seems that most shops dont wanna touch it (mabey because it will ruin the blade?)


anyone have a picture of the stock volvo gasket for this turbo?

 

I have a stock Volvo turbo manifold. It has the raised circle required to mate with the turbine and form a seal, there might be an outer ring gasket that goes with it, but I dunno.

 

What about it being level? And what kind of belt did you use? I'm really quite shocked it'd even do much of anything.

Level, the heads? LOL. Aluminum heads are flexible, you can torque out 0.003-0.006" worth of warpage, and a composite headgasket will accomodate another 0.003". Never had a problem, must have done 9-12 heads like that.

As for the flanges... guys on the jyturbo list level their own T3 flanges, when they get warped from welding, with run of the mill sandpaper stapled to a block of wood. *shrug* Soft cast is going to be easier to sand on than a mild steel flange. But, like I said, it's going to take a minute.

 

Hmm, I retract my previous statement. I NEVER would have guessed that. I wish I would have gave that a shot before I paid to get it milled down, but I now know. Thank you.

is this the pic u wanted?... air reseach t3 exhaust flange... will the other exhaust flange bolt up to a normal t3 flange...the non-square one... or do i have them backwards...

im sorry but i still dont understand what im to do... what is it exactly that dont line up?... is it just concaved diferently and doesnt sit flush with the t3 flange, cause it looks flat to me... or is the hole smaller...what do u do with the belt sander?... just sand the whole top of it down so its flat.... ahh im confused
