pics of my new turbo project!

well as some of you know i purchased a 88 Civic LX 4dr...its slow as ---- even with the MPFI swap (Z6 intake manifold and LS throttle body, 450cc injectors...turboedit2.0 :-*). so this [and every?] car needs a turbo bad.

i also happened to pick up a D16Z6 SOHC VTEC motor for great deal so i will be throwing that in too along with a ACT XTSS i scored 'slightly' used (also a good deal) a 91 tranny and flywheel so match the clutch (88 trannies are different, and grinds 3rd slightly)...

and the other day i picked up a new welder ;D so this project is on a roll!

yes as you may have noticed the turbo is not sitting parellel with the block...why you ask? the big ass comressor and the wastegate wont clear the block unless i did this and i still fucked up, notice the WG isnt mounted ::) but i will be modifing the WG mounting so it slides in towards the turbo a hair more and it will clear, i hope :-\

well i have all the hard parts i think, all i really need to do is finish the downpipe and get a big ass resinator for the exhaust (not really going to run an exhaust), oh i need to do the timing belt and water pump and get an engine hoist... oh some TE2 VTEC/boost code would be nice, dont think they are finished with that...also fighting back the idea of just putting the turbo on the D15 first...

Nice project. I recently aquired a new sedan myself. It's an Accord though. :-\ It WILL NOT be getting a turbo or any special treatment. I'm fixing it and it's gone.

I would have rather had the Civic sedan. :(
