hi guys i just got done doin my turbo dsm set up install on my prelude with a f22a1 every thing is stock rite now like i didnt do anything else but put in the dsm injectors , dsm manifold,14b turbo,h23 intake manifold, jdm h22a lsd tranny,and front mount intercooler. every thing is on the car except im running open o2 housing rite now and when i go to wide open throttle the turbo boost starts to rise to 15-16 psi on like 5200 rpm! so i stop driving it .. now i was wondering why its boosting soo high so guys let me know what can it be thanks
ps i thought 14b boost at 7-8 psi ? your either creeping, or your wastegate is binding/bad/doesnt work right

make sure the wastegate isn't seized shut and check the vacuum going to it

The symptoms of a creeping wastegate is hitting 16psi off a 14B. The boost is "creeping" higher than what the wastegate spring is set to. |

14b wastegates have a diaphram(SP) that leak when up there in age, I have seen a couple at work.

ps i thought 14b boost at 7-8 psi ? Check your wastegate and hoses. I have a brake bleeder vacuum pump that can be used to supply pressure on a dead head system like a wastegate actuator. Pull the hose off of your vac/boost source and pressurize the hose. The actuator should start opening up at 5-8 psi of pressure. if not something is keeping the valve closed against the port. If pressure doesn't build, or it bleeds off really fast, then the diaphram within the actuator assembly is torn. Another thing to check is your vac/boost connection. Where is yours located? Directly to the manifold? From the turbo's compressor's housing? Those are the two best sources to get the signal from. if you have it hooked up to the brake booster hoses/lines, then you chance haveing a problem with a check valve within that series of lines. If the actutor can't see boost, then the turbo will continue to built pressure because it has no way of venting the extra exhaust around the turbine wheel. The best thing is to use a dedicated line for just the wastegate actuator from the before mentioned sources. Good luck and let us know what you find, Wink |

Good luck and let us know what you find, Wink THANKS ALOT MAN !!! this guy helped me out on aim and i found out what its was my vaccum line i was using had a check valve in betweeen it so my wastegate had always been cllosed because the check valve did not allow any vaccum through to actuate the waste gate thanks man but pics coming soon on my just finished f22a turbo |

car looks good, you need to get a filter or atleast a clamped on screen on your turbo inlet, just one small rock is all it takes to ---- up your turbo. other than that, lookin good!

I noticed in this shot that on the compressor it seems to be missing the vacuum nipple that feeds into the wastegate... you might want to plug that up if your not using it.... otherwise your gonna be leaking boost.... fyi... |
