PCV valve Y8

is the pcv valve under the fuel rail and goes back into the intake mani on a y8? so to make a catch can do i take the hose from the valve cover to my catch can to the intake part of turbo then wat do i do with the other end of the hose going into the mani ? do i plug this up or can i make a T and run my bov and boost gauge in it?

pcv valve----->catch can------>pre turbo........plug the intake mani where the pcv ran to and slap an air filter on the valve cover then call it a day ;)

that's how i have mine set up, and it kind of idles rough. My guess is i don't got enough suck at idle, which, is why i'm assuming others have the 2 way setup that also takes vaccuum from the intake manifold. However, the sticky thread about that doesn't have any pics and i don't know what is going on from the description. Anyone have shots of that kind of setup, because i would like to convert...

1 Attachment(s)
JDM, to do that setup you can just use this:

Attachment 37666

the bottom connects to the black box, or gutted stock pcv.

the one that says pre-turbo intake, hook that up to a catch can, then a pre-turbo intake

then the other one to the check valve, then to the intake mani.

hope this helps

matt.

Re: PCV valve Y8

so i run check valves on my catch can piping before the catch can and after the pcv ? i thought i ran check valves on my map sensor on the intake manifold

Re: PCV valve Y8

Anything else i should know about the PCV valve or "black box"? It seems like whenever i get under the car to find the thing i can't see ----, i can feel it, but how does it come out. Also what's the difference between a regular PCV valve and a gutted one?

Re: PCV valve Y8

just gut your stock one, meanin you drill it out, and just buy a pcv valve from a turbo car, so it can with stand boost. and its easiest to get to the black box with the intake mani out for me. thats when i did my pcv setup.

i wanted to do my pcv system this way. but no strauss or autozone carry saab parts. not even a pcv for saab. where can i get a check valve? the parts people didnt even know what that was.

Re: PCV valve Y8

you can buy the saab part here:

http://www2.autopartsauthority.com/p...ther+Connector

and as far as check valves, autozone has em. they are just called pcv valves. get one thats similar to the one in the pic, cuz the part of the saab T that connects to it is pretty tiny, so you have to get a check valve thats pretty tiny too.

remember to blow on or suck the air through the check valve to make sure you install it the right way. the air should be sucked OUT of you catch can INTO the intake mani.

matt
