pcv system?

can anybody post pics and explanations of their setups for venting out the crankcase pressure on d series motors? I haven't found any good ways of doing it on a turbo D since it doesn't have 2 holes in the back of the block like the b series do for that fancy catch can setup. Right now all I have is a valve cover breather and I would like something better.

here is a close up of the homemade breather tank. Alumite welding rods are poor man's ways of welding (brazing) aluminum. ---- works for me. ;D

I saw one guy on VW Vortech use a plastic bear that used to hold honey as one. But oh my god was it ever sweet. I will look for the pics.

that can looks sweet man! Do you have any pics of how you ran the hoses?

Re:pcv system?

The hose runs from the pvc valve, which I gutted out the valve and spring thats inside the pvc valve. Basically a pvc valve is a check valve that lets bypass gas go in one direction. It's a pain in the ass to get to the pvc valve on a y8 enging(right between the intake mani and the oil filter). Once you get the POS out, just use a large drill bit and drill it till the valve and spring falls out. Put everything back. Make sure you plug up the nipple thats on the intake manifold. Now you can get a long hose to connect to the catch can.

the site I got my rods from is at this place. http://www.alumite.com/

Re:pcv system?

oh cool that doesn't sound bad. Is that what most people do with the d series? I know it doesn't have the places on the block like the b series endyn setup uses.
