Re: PCV How to: W/pics. Round 2
cool write up...
how come there is a check valve between the turbo's intake and the compressor filter? as far as I can tell the filter would stop the oil from dripping down into the turbos intake... edit: thought about it for a minute and realized if that check valve wasnt there, there would be an intake manifold vaccume leak... having 2 check valves forces the filter to use which ever vaccume is currently greater. 8) (ps i bought all the parts today... how come my homedepot charges $26 for that same compressor line filter!! lol) |
Re: PCV How to: W/pics. Round 2
Its good to see that someone is finding this writeup usefull. So far on my fresh build I just pulled out the pcv valve and pointed the tube down, and put a filter on the V/C, I'm going to build another one of these pcv setups and determine once and for all if "pcv setup">"just point the tube down"

Re: PCV How to: W/pics. Round 2
well, my car smokes like something that burns a lot of oil... its bad.... and right now i am running with the stock hose pulled off the PCV black box on the back of the block and NO pressure comes out of it when i rev up the engine. (of course the IM is plugged)
i am not convinced that it vents enough to relieve the pressure in the engine. i got my check valves for the PCV setup, so im gonna install this rig and ill post up the changes if there are any |
Re: PCV How to: W/pics. Round 2
how the hell did you get the stock pcv valve apart?
|
Re: PCV How to: W/pics. Round 2
it was 2 pieces, pulled apart pretty easy, you might have to go to an auto parts store and get a replacement, the black top one in the pic was the stocker or was on there when I bought it anyway, and the blue one I got at autozone, I think they're only like 2 or 3 bux
