paint fmic
is it ok to paint your fmic like a flat black?
|
Re:paint fmic
Yes, but it does not dissapate heat like it should...
|
Re:paint fmic
kinda dont want people to see it or notice it right off

Re:paint fmic
Just paint the end tanks and try not to spray too much on the fins or, ... you can spray the fins but with a very light coat.

Re:paint fmic
why would you paint it? it affects cooling, if you decide you dont want to do turbo anymore, or you want to upgrade intercooler, you cant sell it back for anything close to what you pay for it, only a few people will pay for it with paint on it. if you want to make it stealth, put a fine grill in front of it.

Re:paint fmic
Dont paint it!Thats the whole point of turboing the bitch.

Re:paint fmic
you can strip the paint off with paint stripper to sell it, but i dont see why you dont want a huge fmic in your grill, the chicks dig it

Re:paint fmic
I personaly like the black IC's, it completes the sleeper look. Seeing how you are painting only the front of the bar/plates and not the internal fins, there is no way you are adversely affecting its cooling ability.
Looking at my before and after IAT sensor datalogs, there was no measurable diff. in temps. This is my old 'MadMaxx' intercooler....two Thunderbirds welded together :) http://a9.cpimg.com/image/41/F1/1873...-014000F0-.jpg I now have a CustomCoach IC, (still gives me mild wood) and I dont think Im gonna paint it right now...its just looks to dam good!! Here is a thread on my prep/painting if your interested: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...d=4933;start=0 |
Re:paint fmic
