Overheating Problem

He here is tha deal. I turboed my 92 hatch about a year ago and everything has been going fairly well. BUt just the other day it started overheating. I cant firgure out why it is doing this. At first the fan wasnt cutting on so I fixed that and it is still doing that same thing. So a pulled the head off and changed the headgasket and put arp headstuds in it. And it is still overheating. Does anybody have any ideas what it could be. Thanks

Have you checked your thermostat and radiator?

You pulled the head off without replacing a $3 thermostat first?

Re: Overheating Problem

what exactly did you do to your fan to make it work cause it sounds like your thermostats not opening perhaps....sounds llike you did a lot of work that was uneccesary, good, but uneccesary.

Re: Overheating Problem

The head had to come off anyways cause i was gonna put in tha arp headstuds. I have had them for about a month now and had not put them in. so when it stated overheating i went ahead a put them in think that it was probably the problem. But it still overheats so i will check the other stuff. Thanks alot.

hey man i went through the same ----, i dunno if ur cars like mine but i had to "burp" the system. basically pull the upper hose off, fill the rad until it poured out the hose outlet and then i drilled a small hole in my thermostat so the air could pass through. and uhh yeah defiantly dont use just water lol
