Over Heats...!!!
 

92 honda civic cx car over heats while driving on highways or cruising "pass" 60 mph. but never over heats while
travling under 50 mph. or if it does over heats ease off throttle from 50 mph to 0 mph and never over heat at idle..
and also fan works "fine.."

motor has about 130,000 mile
wat i have tried already is no thermostat= same result over heat on highway..

wat i again tried replace good used thermostat and radiator cap = same result over heats on highway...

when was the last time you changed radiator fluid

Any hot/cold spots in the radiator? How old is it? Have you bled the system?

Clogged radiator....flush it out and youre good to go.

how long did it sit and idle foir you say it never over heated...maybe if it is sitting long enough it over heats..

it might just be your radiator (you can tell if it good by just looking at it, if it is all clogged up and green, and dirty then u need a new one.....if it is clean/not dis-colored, and u can look through it, then it should be find), ......i would guess it is that......and then water pump.

Nex (if radiator is good)

open the radiator cap, and REV engine up to about 3k rpm, if it bobbles up ALOT where u have to keep putting in more coolant after u stop reving, then it might be your head gasket..(it is suppose to bobble up due to water pump working, but not too much)


i dont think it is the head gasket, but just to let you know in case it turns out to be.

IF it was the head gasket the coolant wouldnt be nice clear green it would be like a brownish greenish dirty ass colour. FYI

I had the same problem in my 87 REX. After being on the interstate for over an hour at 70mph the car would run hot and I would have to stop and let it cool down. Bought a new radiator and no problems since.

bring that radiator to a shop and let them flush it out. If that doesn't work, get a new metal radiator and that should solve all of your cooling needs.
