only 6 psi? car is also holding back when boost comes

hi guys, i just finished my turbo setup, i have some question to ask but first goes the setup list.
88 crx

d16z6
obd1 conversion, using p28
uberdata
14b turbo
std manifold
adapter plate
450cc injectors
tuner toys oil feed/drain lines
dsm 1g bov
ic pipes 2"
down pipe 2 1/4"
johnny racer intercooler
2.25 crush bend exhaust, resonator in the middle putting lot of restriction

problems are:
-car is holding back for a moment when boost comes
-im only getting 6 psi, isnt it suppose to boost 9 psi stock? I havent touch the wastegate.

comments, suggestions?

check for boost leaks and as for hesitation put it on a wideband

i had a similar problem with my last set-up, i think it was the timing. is you car tuned or are you running a basemap?

not tune at all, im using a base map from some guy on the forums who have a similar setup.

so u think tuning also have something to do with the 6 psi?

if you're running way rich down low that might be causing some of your problems, you really shouldn't even be getting into boost until you tune it. otherwise you're just gonna end up breaking something just like everyone else that gets a basemap made, goes out and rips on it, then busts up ringlands or pops a rod out the block.

My 14B opens the wastegate at 7 psi.

sometimes i get 7 psi, maybe it is just set like that, how do i raise the boost without using a mbc?

also another tip is that my exhaust puts lots of restriction, maybe the turbo is not breathing like it should and thats why im only getting 6 to 7 psi?

shortening the arm between the actuator and the flapper will stiffen the wastegate and make it harder to open, thus requiring more boost before it will open up. kind of a shitty way to go. id get a good mbc.

what about adding washers to where the wastegate seats on the turbo? that would do the same trick wouldnt it?
