setup-
-d15 with dpfi, fmu, t3 .42 .48 turbo, hf mani, bmc adapter plate, ghetto downpipe, wastegate chained shut.

i can only get 3 psi at the very top of third gear. with the wastegate chained shut i should build boost until the motor blows. any ideas on why this thing wont boost?

 

Exhaust leak somewhere? Possibly a leaking chargepipe of coupler? Also you are driving to build boost right? not just reving at a stand still?

 

the only exhaust leak could be between the turbo and the adapter plate, but it didn't have a gasket there from the factory so i dont think it needs one. yes, i am driving to try and build boost

 

i bet u one of the couplers ripped in half, u wouldn't be able to really see it, so i advise u to go over and double check everrrrrrrry single one. I was too igornant to check because i was SOO sure that there wasn't any leaks, but at the end i had a coupler that had a rip in the middle where u can't see unless u stretch it. so good luck findin heh

 

FIXED IT!!! the wastegate was hanging up on something. but now the only boost control i have is my right foot i hit 10psi by accident once, it felt pretty good. i need to get a carb spring on it.

 

how is it moving?

 

lol, my friend was building a setup to run about 5 psi...and was testing it when it jumped up to 12psi. he got scared for his motor's sake, but then couldn't resist hitting 12psi again, lol.

i hit 12 today by accident, so i unchained the wastegate and put it on a spring, but the spring is a ----- and i only get like 1 psi. ill get a better one tomorrow but at least i know it wont blow before then

lets say ur holding the internal wastegate in ur hand, can u messure the psi with like a scale thingy?
