old turbo stuff!

Check out the wastegate on this old beast! Anyone seen one like this before.. its the lancia turbo / supercharged engine..

Yes those engines are turbo and supercharged!

The rallye version made 470 bhp, it's a 1.8 liter engine!

The pic is from turbo124.com.. they have several more pics of this.. this one was interesting because of the "grenade bov".. Yes it was turbo and supercharged. its a perfect match as the supercharger works in low rpms and fades out at higher rpms right when the turbo is kicking in.. and yes its a big turbo as they didnt have to worry about spool times.. the supercharger would prevent any low end lag, leaving lots of headroom for a big pig of a turbo.. I would give my left nut to get ahold of the roots type blower they used on these..
