Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
why?
|
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
yeah why not?
|
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
I dont understand why you can't...I say go for it. :)
|
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
dude, yes you can. My charge pipes consist of 4 90 mandrel bends, 4ft of blower hose from hose express, and an AEM cai. The results are very clean and prfessional looking;especially if you get your mandrel bends powdercoated to match your intake. I also mounted my bov in place of that thingy that goes to the valve cover.

Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
cold air=yes
stock intake pipe=why? i've learned that you can use ANYTHING for charge piping...mandrel bends are the best though. |
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
How far from the throttle can the BOV be? As close as i can or can it be a foot awwy?
|
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
anywhere....and as for mandrel bends being the best (ONIN), what do you think a cai is?

Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
I need charge pipes >:(
I'm pissed >:( ---- it I'm tired of searching and waiting going to go full out ghetto.....PVC charge pipes with high temp zilver paint coat. And place them as far away as possible from heat.Toyota CT20 here I come |
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
anyway what about the BOV how far from the throttle?
|
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
8-12 inches from the throttle body.
pvc will melt kid dont use it. |
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
pvc wont melt...im ising some on my setup until i get my new ic and redo all the pipes
|
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
pvc/abs will melt under high temps(over 12psi).
you might be able to get by using it at 3-7psi. Is this rubber(radiator hose type) piping your talking about? You can use radiator hosing for charge pipe use as long as its nothing over 10psi when you need stronger piping... I would upgrade into some stronger piping if you plan on going big..You can come by some cheap piping in some classified sections or www.turbopiping.com . Turbopiping.com has a good selection on ---- when turboing..But they over price their silicone couplings :'(. IMO the bov i would say shouldnt be no more than 18'' away from the tb.. I came across some Piping on www.honda-tech.com for $165.00 already welded..Jc whitney has some mandrel piping but I dont like the prices.. Best bet www.turbopiping.com ... Or you can use your other piping for a little period of time unless its abs/pvc which I dont urge you to use. Pvc might work as the above person said... |
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
jcwhitney prices on mandrel steel bends are cheaper. turbopiping.com has the cheapest pricing on silicone couplings. if you found them cheaper than them let me know. i would like them cheaper if they exist.
|
Re:Old air intake pipes for charge pipes.
Havent found em cheaper.
Some reason I though tp was cheaper :-\ |
