Is it Ok to remove my front mount permanently
I have a 1992 integra that im about to turbo and I was wondering if it would be ok to remove the fron engine mount and leave it off. I have poly urethane motor mount inserts and im gonna make the tranny mount solid. Ive seen civics with B18 motors without the front mount, but they have the HAsport motor mount kit that eliminates it. Do you guys think i would have a problem doing this on my car. Has anyone tried it?

As long as you have the inserts and the engine isnt flapping around everywhere you will be fine.

if its anything like my car...then its just a front torque strap, its not even a motor mount...people run wit out it and theyre fine..just tighten up the other ones

I rode around with a broken front mount in the rex all the time.. yeah the motor shifted back and forth.. yeah the battery would sometimes make a ground connection.. but who cares?

Re:Is it Ok to remove my front mount permanently
you should be fine without it, honda uses them for support mounts, if your main mounts are fine then you will be alright

Re:Is it Ok to remove my front mount permanently
i didn't have mine in my 93 teg, it was straight, even with the rest of the mounts shot.

If you don;t mind the total ghotto look of it..I took a piece of metal strapping hooked it to the motor with bolt on the front of the block (I stuck it in where the power steering mount isn't) and then I hooked it to one of the radiator (or, in this case..left over ac condenser backets) that on the top of the front of the engine compartment. As you tighten the bolt into the front of the head, it's pulls the strap tight. I was supprised how much difference it made. But then again I have stock mount too...(Damn I wish I could post a picture..it's worth 1000 words on this one :'()
