Ok, real question, this time a ECU MESS! :) thanks!

editted for stupidity by...me.

Ok guys so my car is a 99 civic running the d16y7. its using a OBD2b verision of the P2E ECU.

What OBD1 ECU can I put into my car without issues. keep into consideration my tranny is an auto, does that make a diff really?

P06? I think that's for 5spd non-VTEC. Try to find auto non-VTEC. Call junkyard and say you have a 94 auto dx and need an ecu then ask what code it is. Then be sure to thank them and wish them a good day and God bless.

Re: So, now on to my transmission.

What is the suggested modifications to the automatic transmission itself that i can make for it to handle the power of a T3 pushing 7lbs. the transmission itself is on 170k but the entire engine is on 8k rebuilt and still purring. thank god for a good machinist. :)

so any suggestions and/or references for the tranny ideas?

You cant run a Y7 with a P06 because a Y7 has a 3 wire IAC valve and the P06 and all OBDI ecus only work with 2 wire IAC valves.

Thats an easy fix with a 2 wire conversion. there is a link on here for the conversion. The problem is that OBD1 ECU WILL NOT Control the OBD2 Tranny. I am facing the same dilemma. You either have to change the tranny to an Auto OBD1 (which makes no sense) or convert to manual (which makes more sense). Your only tuning option (i know thats what your main concern is) is a AFC Hack unfortunately. Hope i was a little helpful.

What did you use on your hatch? I have a P28 in my Y8.

Hatch had a Y8 intake and 2 wire IAC valve. Then I just rewired it to work with the 2 wire setup.

Ok so I am aware of the Iacv issue, easy fix with wiring.

So the consensus is that I need a 5 speed swap. I'll find a 99-00 5 speed ex tranny and plan on that going in then as to avoid the prob. I am very cautious about this as I want to be able to have just a day of prep to switch it back to OBD2b(swap ecu and other bare essentials back) for emissions when they come around. So the best bet is to just swap my tranny to five speed first, I am aware of how to do this. Then run a p06 ecu reprogrammed with crome. :) sound good? i am aware of the harness adapter, the fuel rail clips etc.

I have a 97 DX tranny, clutch lines, pedal assembly, salve cyclinder and master cyclinder. Basically a whole change over for sale. Send me a PM if your interested.

Ok so you DONT understand. Its not an easy fix with wiring, you actually need to run a 2 wire IAC valve. Which means swap intakes to a Z6 or Y8 not to mention a new throttle body.

i appreciate the support. the more i talk and look between articles the more its becoming clear to me. i have taken my engine apart and put it back together 2x already, so its not like I have NO clue of whats going on, its just making hybrid setups and more that things start getting shaky. the wiring part of the fix is easy, so yes i need to buy a z6 or y8 manual intake mani and throttle body so i don't get stuck with 3-wire bs. once again thank you all for the help so far, it is making me more knowledgable. so with the transmission thing and the 3 wire iacv problems taken care of, the rest should be more straight forward.
