ok, a couple more d-series turbo questions
ok. i m building a z6 block...just pistons and rods, and block guard, bored and honed....with a stock y7 head. im still stuck on a few things...what are some good FORGED pistons with STOCK bore? wiseco's at .020 over?, do they make stock bore? are srp forged? kms standard bore?
what head gasket should i use?
what timing belt should i use?
i hear nothing but bad things about aftermarket crankshaft pulleys...because of their lack of being harmonically balanced....what about this one...it says "No need for balancing, these pulleys come at zero balance. Most stock pulleys have been found to be out of balance from the factory! "
http://www.dh-racing.com/pulleys.html
and as far as rod bearings....how do you know which ones to buy, cause there are different colors. im using eagle h-beams. should i just pay attention to what i take off of each rod....and put the same color back in...or are their measurements i need to figure out?
and are all d-series throttle bodies interchangeable...more specifically d15b7 on a d16z6 intake manifold.
thanks for your help...hope to finish by spring.

search is your friend
i'm using srp std bore pistons; bought them used even.
forget about pulleys; they are evil; NOTHING wrong w/ the stock ones. if you buy one buy a fluidamper and i'm no teven sure they make it for d.
also why use a y7 head; why not get a z6 head.

Re: ok, a couple more d-series turbo questions
I've used an unorthodox racing pulley for over a year on the d15 w/ no problems.
Not all D-Series have the harmonic balancing section. Many D15 2 belt pulleys have hollow backs.
As far as the throttle body, the B7 and Z6 are the same size and direct fit.
Go with a mls head gasket. You can get a d16y8 hg from hondaautomotiveparts.com for a little over $20 bucks.

thanks... why all the d15 references? im building a d16z6. the y7 head, cause i dont want vtec. i want to keep it easy to tune, and i already have 2 p06 ecus. i was looking at SRP pistons...but it never said anywhere if they were forged or not. Are they?

probably a std. rod bearing will do you good. Make sure you spec it out though(with plastiguage)!!! I wouldn't go with an over size piston neccesarily either, I'd just go with a std. bore as well and just have shane hone it for a few $(he does an awesome job). make sure you get head studs too since your doing all this.
