oilpan oil level
 
does anyone have a measurement from top of pan down for the oil level? i have a d16y7 1999 or should i just fill it with the right amount of water while i have it off to weld a return to it. i kinda answered my own question huh?

uhm put the fitting as close to the top as u can..

At least try to do it above the oil pan baffle. Mine's below the baffle and it backs up oil into the turbo on the exhaust side(white exhaust smoke).

No comments on my downpipe please there was no room to do anything :P
I just realized that you can see a part of a first gen ZC flywheel in the background. It is so much lighter than the d16a1 flywheel.

Mine(first gen ZC)is definitely lighter than a d16a6.

You can see it has holes cut throughout the flywheel to lighten it.

That's what I thought as well. But what is happening in my situation is that it doesn't have the normal "sweet smell", but instead the smell you get when you drip some oil on a hot exhaust manifold. Also when you drip some oil on the manifold it burns a whiteish color and it smells like burning oil.

Trust me it's oil..I have replaced the head gasket 3 times.
