Oil return fitting
Hi, I'm going to tap into my oilpan for the oil return. I picked this a 3/8 fitting up at home depot. I looked for a 1/2 inch, but they didn't have it.
Is this 3/8 fitting large enough for an adequte amount of oil? http://12.245.79.108/oilreturn.JPG |
Re:Oil return fitting
i think 1/2 would prolly be better however i believe that most oil outlets on the turbos themselvs are 3/8's

Si:
Good idea.. I was going to hack up the oil return line from the '92 Talon I stole my turbo from. What's funny, is that this wasn't welded to the oil pan on the stock ride. It has two small 10m bolts that screw the fitting down with a gasket (slightly oil soaked) to the oil pan. This little method seems a little more secure. |
Re:Oil return fitting
That is basically what the greddy kit does, you just bolt the flange to the pan and use a gasket, we tried that at first but its tough getting a flat surface on the pan, and it always ------- leaked, just like the dsm ones. Braze that fitting in and use some rubber hose, and you will be fine.

Cool. I'll check another home depot and see if they got a half inch. If not i'll stick with this one.

Re:Oil return fitting
I used a 3/8 on my set up. It worked ok. I know a 1/2 would be better. I just tapped a hole for the fitting and screwed the fitting in there and used a hose and connected it to the turbo. No leaks.
