oil return

has anyone ever run the oil return line to another place besides the oil pan. i was wondering if i could run it to the valve cover instead of putting a hole in my oil pan. i mean, if the feed line is teed off the oil sending unit it would have pressure to send it up, right.

well, either way the oil is going to get to the turbo. whats the difference if it just doesn't get back to the engine as fast? i'm being serious.

Re:oil return

the return oil will not travel upwards, if you hook it up to the valve cover the oil will seep out the rings in the turbo and start burning out your exhaust. And i think there is pressure inside the valve cover so the air that escapes out the valve cover will be forced down the return oil line which will push any oil in the line back to the turbo

Re:oil return

u cant to that when oil comes out of your turbo gravity is pulling it towards the oil pan.

pressure is fed in the top, but this pressure is lost because its pushing it through the bearing casings. after the bearing casings it just drips down and gravity takes over.
unless u have a sump pump.

When i first did mine, i had the oil feed running in the bottom and out the top into the valve cover, and holy ---- was that a mistake, first it went into my intake and out my exhaust and i thought i blew the turbo out and holy ---- big ass mistake, just run it to the oil pan, and make sure the oil feed goes somewhere in the top and flows for the most part down :-P
