Oil pressure restricter line ?

>:(o.k. I just got into a big arrgument with the other tech. I work with about having to use a oil pressure resricter on the oil feed line for the turbo. I told him I haven't seen anyone on this site use one on honda's. He said you have to because my oil pressure at WOT ( wide open throttle ) is at about 75PSI and the turbo rings/seals can't handle that kind of pressure so you have to put a restricter in the oil feed line to bump it down to like 8PSI . Is this true ? If so where do you get one from. I never heard of anyone using one. Thanks for any help and if I'm right and you don't need it I'm gonna go rub it into his face cause he thinks he knows everything.

On the inlet feed side of the turbos, (on most) they have a small ass opening, thats your restrictor right thier..

Jeff is right. Check the pinhole size oil holes in turbo bearings sometime. You need another restrictor?

The books your friend is getting this from are nice and all, but the 20 year old crap we pull out of junkyards is more modern than either MacInnes or Bell's handed-down-for-the-last-eight-decades lore.

Furthermore, 75 psi oil pressure? I want to smoke some of those crack rocks your boy gets... look at a service manual sometime.

Yea I thought I was right... all jokes aside I've know him for 13 years now so were tight and we go back and forth all the time when it comes to who's right and wrong. 99 percent of the time I'm right. ;D He's just one of those type's of people that when they think their right and know it and there's no doubt about it but it was all in good fun he just hates it when he's wrong. :)

Actually, at WOT 75psi isn't completely unrealistic. at idles its like 10psi
