Oil pressure reading

Ive installed this oil restrictor on my T3 D16A6 setup and my pressure readings are 30psi at idle and up to 75psi while driving. Is this high, or am I OK?

Re: Oil pressure reading

Those are the readings after the restrictor? Thats about what your oil pressure should be stock, 75 psi is kind of high for the turbo.

Re: Oil pressure reading

Yup. Im using a oil filter sandwich with two -AN lines. One to the oil pressure gauge, and the other to the T3. Both lines have the oil restrictor on the end of the lines.
Im still researching but, Ive read that oil pressure readings MAY read high, but the amount of oil will be decreased. I wanna do this right before I install the turbo. So, is it a bad idea to mount the turbo now and inspect for leaks, or should I find a way to further decrease oil pressure? ???

Re: Oil pressure reading

If the oil pressure reading of 75psi was recorded before the oil restrictor going to the turbo, you are OK. If the reading is after the restrictor, the pressure is too high.

Re: Oil pressure reading

you have a restricor on the gauge and 1 on the turbo? that's kinda crazy. Just use 1 restrictor and feed both the turbo and gaue through it.
