oil pan gasket blown

Is it already hapen to someone here, to get a blown oil pan gasket, it lioke i have got pressure in the block to put the gasket out of it place? is it possible then the PCV valve isn't working right so the boost is going into the block? because i have jsut broke my main and rod bearing :(

and at the same time wich main and rod bearing are the best for B16A2 engine, the one i have before they broke was Toga but i want to know if the honda one are better or wich one are better! I'm going to go high boost over 20PSI thanx!

Re: oil pan gasket blown

really weird how your oil pan gasket blew out. how do you break your rod and main bearings? reving to high?. little off topic.... how do you like the victor x manifold?

i really have no idea whats going on in this thread...your pan gasket started leaking and your bearings are shot? sounds like you sprung an oil leak, didnt check your oil or add any, and that made your bearings take a ----

It haven't start leaking it have blow out when i was in a right side curve so the oil was all prejected out of the engine! that's where the bearing have take a ----! :(

Re: oil pan gasket blown

how does it "blow out" ???
is your "intake tube to valve cover hose" still on?

Re: oil pan gasket blown

It was venting in the atmosphere at the time it have blow out! i have the impression then my PCV valve isn't working good and the turbo have made boost in the block is it possible ?

ghettoturbo 06-03-2005 02:36 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

there is no way the oil pan gasket would leak all the oil out of the motor...and if the pcv wasnt hooked up how would boost get in there. im not sure we are understanding exactly what happened

Speedy2k 06-03-2005 08:04 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

When you are in a left side curve, the majority of the oil go in the right side of the pan! that is where the gasket have blow out. And yes the PCV valve was ouked up but i think it was defective and have let the boost goes in the block! When i have removed the oil pan on the car it left about 1.5liter of oil in it! Enough when you are in straight line but in a curve under boost the 2 passenger side rod bearing haven't get enough oil and they have failed!

Re: oil pan gasket blown

rofl. do you have some owned ringlands, only other way of your crankcase getting presureized that i can think of

ghettoturbo 06-03-2005 11:55 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

dude...taking a hard turn should not cause your bearings not to get any oil. the system is pressurized and i doubt you were in a hard turn long enough to uncover the sump for that long if at all.

Re: oil pan gasket blown

When there is 1 gallon of oil in the engine, yes it is barely impossible to turn long enough for the pump to suck air but when the gasket blow and about 3/4 of the oil get out of the engine, and there about 1/4gallon of oil left in the engine it was really easy to make the pump suck air!

Re: oil pan gasket blown

my car has done the same thing. when i boost it blows the oilpan gasket out from between the pan and the block. with about 45 sec of boost i will loose about 1 qt of oil all over my firewall and the ground as it sprays out. like Speedy2k my pvc is disconnected. i have good compression 205 205 222 222 i am not burning any oil i checked the plugs. im hoping that someone can answer this one since everyone i know has no idea

Re: oil pan gasket blown

i lost my shitty aftermarket oil pan gasket the other day Ghetto... Lost about 3.5 qts in about 20 miles, leaks like a mofo. Use a honda gasket

Speedy2k 06-05-2005 09:56 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

Super i will try it but now i have toreplace my main and my rod bearing, what brand do you recommand me ?

accordepicenter 06-05-2005 11:33 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

if you care about the engine, use honda bearings. Ive heard guys use acl bearings and napa bearings etc ok too. Just plastiguage it and make sure your clearances are within spec on every bearing before you put it together

ghettoturbo 06-05-2005 11:48 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

this boggles my mind...are you guys disconnecting the pcv from the intake but leaving it in there or something? ive run more than one motor with the pcv removed with tons of boost and re-used gaskets and never had one problem. anyway speedy, if your bearings are shot, what does the crank look like? if its fubar, just getting new bearings wont help much

Speedy2k 06-06-2005 12:10 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

No the crank is goo i only have 2 bad bearing, and by the way, my PCV isn't disconneted, that is where i think the boost a get is way to the crankcase!

Speedy2k 06-06-2005 06:48 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

I got some nes! i have to change the crank beacause it is not good! last week, i have check it really fast but with a closer look i will have to change it, Now the option i have are these one:
Sending the crank to the machine shop to turn it : 325$CAD
Buying a new crank from honda: 1800$
And i have found a B16A complete block (Block, pistons, rings, rods, bearings, etc! only the block assembly: 300$CAD

What i want to know, is does the B16A block is the same block as the B16A2? so does the B16A crank, main & rod bearing will fit on my B16A2 block?

ghettoturbo 06-06-2005 07:14 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

why would you do that...if the other block is good use that one. otherwise you will need new rings and hone the cylinders

Speedy2k 06-06-2005 10:29 PM

Re: oil pan gasket blown

I got SRP pistons and egale rod on this block, it have a block guard on it and ti was oversized .010 so there is no question to put the b16a block in my car in any way! i only nned a crank in good condition and this b16 block don't cost me too much! If someone can tell me if the crank is compatible in these two block i would really appreciate!
