oil lines...

Re: oil lines...
There's a flange and a barbed fitting that go onto the turbo. There is another barbed fitting with a brass nut on one end that goes into your oil pan. The foot long tube is what connects the two. Cut it to length and make sure that there arn't any sharp bends/kinks in the hose, and remember that gravity works really well there, so keep that in mind.

the big line and big flange are for the return line from your turbo. if you ordered the appropriate kit for your turbo, the big aluminum flange should bolt to the oil retrun hole on the turbo with a gasket (should be with the kit) and the two allan head bolts, then one of the big copper barb fittings screws in to the threads on that flange, and the big (i believe -10an) ss line goes over the bar fitting and is tightened down with a supplied clamp. the other end goes in to your oil pan (you have to figure out a way to tap it to the pan). here's a pic of mine. i didn't use the ss return line because i hate that ----, and i had an extra stealthmode return flange that i used on my pan, but you get the idea. don't mind all the gasket sealant, that was the 5th time i had reused that oil pan gasket

no, you don't need an extra flange, i just used it b/c i had an extra one. you were supplied with an extra barb fitting in the oil line kit, what most people do is drill a hole in the pan so that the barb fitting fits in there snugly, then plaster on some jb weld all around the outside of it to get it to seal. i've done that method a couple times and it works great also, but you still need to tap the pan in the same general location, basically near the top of the pan, and make sure your return line goes straight down (like the one pictured), with no sharp bends or kinks.

Well.. I like the flange idea looks cleaner and safer. So I'm prob going to do that.
But now I'm finding out I need a flange for my oil inlet. The turbo had one, but its been removed it looks like.
Its a saab t3, it has water cooling also, I'm confused as to what holes are for the water cooling also... I know hooking that up is as easy as tapping some coolant lines.

look here, it will tell you which holes are which, and how to tap your feed hole if it isn't already threaded on the inside. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...?topic=44006.0
