OIL LINES ????

so im looking around for oil feed lines and i see a bunch with "restricted" flow ... is this some sort of bullshit .. or does it actually do what they claim it does?????? help would be appreciated

Alot of people are running -3an lines without restrictors with no problems. Either it's got a restrictor in it usually .65, or it's a small -3an line. I would definitly run a restrictor, but make one out of JB weld in the fitting, with an appropriatly sized hole drilled in it. If you run without one, you run the chance of chewing up the turbo seals in short notice.

but if u have a small feed line .. or even a restrictor .. doesnt that mean ur gonna have higher pressure and less oil volume .. which would ruin the seals by having more pressure and less oil ??? hmm idk some of my freinds ran just a normal line and said it was fine ... i just need more opinions

there is no opinion about it. you need to run a restrictor. you run the restrictor to lower ther pressure. go ahead and run 40 psi of oil into your turbo and see what happens. the turbo at max only needs 25psi depending on the turbo.

Mine ran for over 100,000 at 60 Psi...

and then the bearing went due to high boost..

ok so i got 2 different ppl sayin 2 different things .... ill prolly just end up running a smaller line with no restictor

I have a LC-BB Turbo, it uses less oil because of the water cooling..

I knew that I did not need it, if you are unsure, then get one.

Get the restriction valve unless you know otherwise.

If your turbo fails in under 3000mi, get a new one and take the restriction valve off.

that is always good way to know if u need one or not. but stealthmode sells an adjustable knob one that is really nice. I have been running my 14b one for 2 years and no oil problems.
