oil leak on return

Default oil leak on return

gotta oil leak on my return flange thats connected to my oil pan
whats the best way to fix this?....its the type with 2 screws that have nuts inside the pan and a gasket

my pan is aluminum so is welding an options or will JB hold?

seal it with jb weld. the flange/bolts are supporting it, it's just not sealed, so jb weld will do fine to seal it up. get the real ----, not the 'kwik' weld, the temp rating isn't as high on the kwik weld ----.

thats what i did.


just make sure you put it on both sides. on the outside, make sure you leave room for your line to slip on, and a the line is tight against the flange. you should be good.
ohh yeah, and make sure the JB weld is room temp, and the pan is also at room temp, or else the ---- wont set up properly. i cleaned mine real good to. (brake cleaner did the trick)

not really. everyone i know does that. i havent come across anyone who hasnt used jb weld on that. serisouly.

i'm not a big fan of jb weld. i used that blue rtv ---- and it worked fine.

the kwik weld says its withstands up to 300 degrees isnt that good enough?

i believe motor oil is gets around 400°, so that's not much safety cushion if ya know what i mean. use the real ----. just slap it on one night before you go in for the night, then it will be good to go in the morning.

i tried that and it didnt work

im trying not to have to take the pan off
so will JB work only on the outside?

you can try it. i guess if all else fails, you will know.

-is it warm where you live (not getting below 45degrees at night) because that ---- has to be over 40 degrees to set properly.
