oil leak....
 

So ever since i took my oil pan off to put a fitting for the oil return line , i have had a oil leak on the back right corner of my oil pan. i dont understand why i put a new gasket on it when i put it back on. Guys have any clue?

try using the black gasket in the tube...that rtv high temp ---- ....

maybe you didnt quite get that section of bolts tight enough

Yeah, I always like doping up with that black RTV ----.. work wonders.

Did you follow the torque/bolt sequence from the book? I would assume no - thus the reason for the leak.

Or it could have been dropped, resulting in a bent corner, which would seem to completely seal when tightened, untill ya look in between the bolts and notice a little dip in the gasket/seal edge.

Oh yeah, I forgot to check condition of oil pan, they can get pretty beat up.. especially aluminum ones. Good call.

More than likly its overtightened and you squeeshed the gasket out, very common! be sure to check that along with a thin layer of silicone and you should be good to go. Those bolts/nuts dont need to be very tight.

With rubber yes, cork normally doesn't have that kinds of problems, but does break down over age.

I've never seen a cork oil pan gasket for a honda in my life,

I'm going to try and find you a honda cork gasket next time I'm at the auto parts store just to show you up..
