OG 85 Crx Turbo!

Just thought I would show some love for the first fuel injected Honda.
Here she is! 1985 Crx Si 2.5 Rs Headlights Homemade turbo kit t3 from an 89 saab re-mounted wastegate Braided stainless steel teflon lined intercooler piping Home Depot Couplers Stealthmode performance ooil feed and return lines 1g BOV Nordskog Boost and Air/Fuel gauge Ebay FMIC Vortech 12:1 Fmu Petco Check Valves Dx Manifold Adapter Plate 2.5 Turbo Back exhaust with apexi N1 Muffler Dx Half Core Radiator Attachment 27250 Attachment 27251 Attachment 27252 Attachment 27253 Attachment 27254 Attachment 27255 Attachment 27256 Attachment 27257 Attachment 27258 There is still a few things i dont like. The whole setup sits a little to low for me, therefore the oil drain line seems like it may be pushing oil back throught my turbo. Ive been puching out black smoke lately and that may have something to do with it. I dont like the adapter plate I made either. I tried to do something a little different and maybe have a spot for an external wastegate for the future... But it still sits really low. I go through gaskets on the adapter plate like mad too. I had to move the wastegate, make a bracket and extend it in order to clear the block on the car (which sucked ass) But overall its a fun ass setup. Im only pushing 7psi right now but im hoping in the future I can up that to arouns 10 or 11. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me. Just thought I would show everyone on HMT my setup! Show some love for the 1g!!! |

Re: OG 85 Crx Turbo!
i love the first gens. nice job. and i would defenatly make a new adapter plate. somthing not so long. so you can fix your oil return problem at the same time.

Nice old school project :) Fix your oil drain before it causes more problems. |
Re: OG 85 Crx Turbo!
I had the same problem with a simular 1gen D motor build. The turbo too damn low. The pans on the 1gen are huge so make sure you check the oil level to make sure you are above. I rock a 84 with a turbo B18, I love the 1st gens!!!!!!!!!

Re: OG 85 Crx Turbo!
What is that you used for charge piping? It looks like giant SS braided hose.

Re: OG 85 Crx Turbo!
Also, watch out if you plan on raising the boost to 11psi and sticking with an fmu
Are those early crx's standard obd0 or something pre obd? |
