*thread jack*

I have a 14b turbo with the dsm o2 housing. stock accord o2 sensor is before flexpipe. Now, when i run my wideband, I run it from the dsm o2 housing, right?

yea its fine to run it from the o2 housing, although excessive heat can damage the sensor, bosche LSUs don't like anything above 800c. They also don't like high pressure areas (before the turbo)

once again, you know nothing, do some research on placement of the wideband no, don't put it in the dsm housing, wideband's get their most accurate reading (and less chance of damage), 16-18 inches down from the the exhaust outlet, in turbo applications, being the turbine housing. you'd be much better off putting it in the stock location usually just a little behind the oil pan.

Looks like your the one who needs to do some research.

The only things you need to worry about when installing the sensor are...
  • Sensors should be placed so they are not overheated (gas temp not above 800 °C, nor cooled beyond the ability of the heater to maintain their working temperature (~10 Watts).
  • All pump cell wideband sensors are pressure sensitive. They should not be placed where the working gas pressure is much above or below atmospheric pressure, otherwise different calibration curves must be used for best accuracy.
  • The greater the distance from the combustion, the slow reacting, and leaner the readings, sensor should be placed as close to combustion as possible with out going above the heat range.
  • In applications with a catalytic converter, the sensor must be mounted BEFORE the converter. In applications with an auxiliary air pump, the sensor must be mounted BEFORE the pump input to the exhaust stream.
  • Installation angle should be inclined at least 10° towards horizontal (electrical connection upwards) which prevents the collection of liquids between sensor housing and sensor element during the cold start phase.

16 to 18 inches is just a arbitrary number so that people know roughly how far to mount the sensor on a N/A application

honestly i think this guy is an asshat, but spenser, how much time have you spent at the dyno, how may dyno's have you been to, how many tuners have you personally been around while tuning a car? and where do they all place the sensor? surely not in the stock o2 housing if someone asked me to tune their car and all they had was a bung on the stock housing, i'd say no, and i have before. i'm not gonna chance ruining my sensor, and no matter what (you probably dug up on the zeitronix site since your so loyal), everone knows the most accurate afr's are taken at least a foot from the turbine outlet, not 2 inches away
