O.I.L. oh! it leaked!
anyway i would like to adresse 2 topics i havnt seen much of. gas preferance and oil. ovbiously when you use boost it wears and tears on your engine a little more than normal. i was under the impresion that 92 or ultra 94 pump was the best to use in a daily driver with gas prices and all. but with oil i was wonder what yall had to say about diferent vicosities of engine oil and trannsmision oil. i would like to use like a 10w50 if i could find it. but wat about the trans.? if this topic has all ready been posted some where feel free to lock this thred.
why would you use a 10w50? Just use 10w30 like everyone else. Or even a 5w30 in the winter because it's so cold. Synthetic or non doesnt matter, its a honda. Tranny oil? I just use 10w30 motor oil but Honda does sell Genuine Honda manual tranny fluid so...
What year/model are you talking about?
If its a turbo Dsm, you use the best pump gas you can get. Or else.
Warmer climate=10w-30, 10w-40
colder=5w-30
Its gonna leak anyway so synth or not is your choice.
Tranny gets anything GL-5 (75w-90, 80w-90, etc.)
If your allwheel stay away from synthetics in the transfercase.
Their was a recall on them for leaking, synthetics make it worse.
Somethin bout ppl haulin *** down the highway and all four wheels locking up...
My 90 GSX had 160k on it, so I ran 20w-50, but didnt really give a ---- bout the engine. I had good luck with royal purple in the tranny.

i originaly meant the 2g (95) gsx but now that you bring it up i heard that samething. never seen it tho. and ya i already knew to use a lighter wieght in the engine. synth. but the tran was another story as is the transfer case sperate all together. thnaks tho.
I usually run a minimum of 10w-40 or 15w40 in boosted motors (spring/summer/fall). Better resistance to heat and less sludge build-up. Pop the valve cover off your motor and tell me what you see...bet it's a golden brown color. Higher viscosity oils won't breakdown and discolor like that when maintained regularly.
