anyone can put together a 500hp civic, but how long will it last? it gets expensive battling heat and internal pressures.


I dunno what more i can tell you. Just because they rate rod doesn't have anything to do with HP estimates. IF you wanna make big power, don't expect stock internals to help you get there. If you want 500hp you'll do your own homework and find a rod that can support 500hp without looking like a banana.

Very true, Alot of it depends on how you drive it too. A much larger displacement engine with quality parts should last longer in theory as the loads will be distributed across more/bigger components. I am sure there are some dudes on this forum that have that much power on either their daily driver or trailer queen.

no im not trying to throw down those kinds of numbers by no means. it was just a thought and i figured id try to learn something, i didnt fail completely i do understand compressor maps a lot better now! i reckon ill just have to do some more diggin and asking around. i appriciate your help though! later
