Not building boost
The car is an 89 crx si with a TD05H, dsm 450s, external WG @7 psi, 1g DSM BOV, TurboEDIT.
The car is running extremely rich right now, but I've asked about that in another part of the forum, my question here is I am not building boost. I don't have any exhaust leaks, I don't have any vac. leaks, the WG works fine, what else could this be? Could the BOV be stuck open? How do I check the BOV? When the car is in neutral the boost gauge sits at about 17 in vac, when i rev it in neutral it jumps up to 0, in 1st gear when I rev it up to about 5,000 rpm it doesn't move past 15 in vac. any ideas, please throw them my way. |
Re: Not building boost

Re: Not building boost
you must have a leak somewhere.........check all your charge pipe connections

Re: Not building boost
is the gauge good? ...if it wont go beyond 15 in vac at wot thats a problem ;)

Re: Not building boost
Charge pipes are hooked up and tightened.
The gauge responds (goes from -17 to 0) when I'm wide open throttle in neutral. |
Re: Not building boost
Do you feel a kick in power?
If everything is working right and hooked up, then it must be your gauge. Otherwise something is leaking air, bigtime. |
Re: Not building boost
If you clocked the center section of your turbo you may not have moved the wastegate in all the way to seal. It may be open and you dont know it.

Re: Not building boost
Nope, I'm not feeling a kick in power.
Thanks everyone, I'll keep checking everything, you guys keep throwing ideas at me. |
Re: Not building boost
Well, I found the problem, the turbonetics Deltagate II has 2 vac. ports on it, the one I have running to the intake manifold, the other one I had blocked off. I opened it up and I've got boost.
