i borrowed a turbo from a friend and before i return it, i want to clean it first. because after i came out of my car it was so dirty and full of oil and other stains. (i know your thinkin that its gonna get dirty again so why clean it?)
so can i just spray degreaser or like a carb cleaner? is it safe? id really appreciate your help. ???

(please dont hurt me so bad :3)

Take it apart and clean it with a heavy duty degreaser. If you were a good friend you would hit it with some acetone after and paint it with VHT high heat [1500deg] aluminum and cast iron grey on the other side.

I just use brake cleaner, as for painting the hotside don't bother.

Try not to spray the internals to much just put some cleaner on a rag and wipe them down.VHT wilol not burn off your turbo i use it all the time and it looks brandnew after.

I use brake clean to clean them and tell customers they are brand new. ;)

a wire brush works really well on stains/corrosion. my compressor housing looked like ---- when I got it and I took a small welders wire brush to it and it looked 100X better.
