Default Noob needs an ok on turbo setup please

Hey just some parts i'm considering to buy and i want to make sure its all good before i spend too much
this is a d16z6

i dont want too much power will be happy with 170 hp at 6-7psi

T3 60a/r fortysomething/60 turbo wtaercooled internal gated at 6psi

rank1racing manifold with t3flange, not the extended lenght medusa one, just the log one that is pretty nice, the middle priced one i think $285

johnnyracecar 6 inch intercooler

turboxs bov

oil feed kit from that streetperformance shop

oil return kit from the same shop

vortech fmu

255 wahlbro fuel pump

420-450 cc dsm injectors

some kind of fpr

manual boost controller and boost gauge

miscellanues clamps, vaccum hoses, and check valve

and cutom 2.5 downpipe and custom ic pipes

QUESTIONS:

How good is the rank1racing manifold?

for the down pipe do i need ot buy a t3 flange and take that to the shop??

for the ic piping do i just take the car to the shop??

finally what kind of gaskets do i need and how do i install them, for instance i am sure that you need a gasket where the turbo meet manifold

THAT IS EVERYTHING THAT I AM BUYING I AM NOT GETTING A SINGLE MORE THING AM I GOOD TO GO?

thanks for all the help

This should work good for you

a little overkill for your power needs. if u plan to go more later then this is good, otherwise save money and get a Hf mani w/ adapter plate

johnnyracecar 6 inch intercooler

you were doin great until here. you have 2 different types of "additional fuel" here.

FMU and larger injectors are a no no. thats TOO much.

you could go w/ FMU and 255 pump and call it a day (so so reliable)
or
450cc DSM injectors w/ the AFC hack (VAFC)
or
450cc DSM w/ uberdata

thanks for taking the time to answer,

as far as the manifold do you think the hf will be enough?? i'm sure one day i will want to upgrade

and as far as fuel goes, i was always told to go uberdata or mad expensive tuning(hondata) first off i am in no way capable of dealing with uberdata, i have never soldered a chip in my life, and even if i could i would never be able to mess with the numbers, i would be way too worried

and as far as the afc hack i hear all of these rumors that its inferior (its also more expensive for me than an fmu)

what would you suggest i do then since uberdata is out of the question? afc or fmu?

thanks again

well if u wanna go w/ the FMU we cant stop u.. it's the easiest way, but also the most dangerous way..

all you need to run an fmu is the Fmu and a replacement pump. like the 255 u mention. NO injectors whatsoever

yes you can stop me lol

i will take your advice over my ASSumptions anyday,

i was just under the misconception that fmu and afc hack did the same job (cheap price for cheap security)

i guess i'm going afc

are there any Ny shops or people you know of who have experience with uberdata? because i would rather do it right the first time

how much do you think i should pay this person in order to solder my ecu and do mild tuning? also should i run any extra fuel with uberdata aka injectors fuel pump, both?

i personally dont know of any NY tuners...

for the AFC you need....

1. the AFC, get a VAFC since u've got a vtec motor, u can adjust vtec point with it.

2. 450cc DSM injectors

3. resistor box OR 4 10watt10ohm resistors from radio shack

thats it

Thanks for all the comments

one last berzerker barrage of questions lol

is an fpr the same thing as an fmu?

If it is not then how does the Fuel Pressure regulator come in with regards to the vafc??

Do i even need an fpr??

A fuel pressure regulator is different than a fuel management unit. A regulator only adjusts the set psi of fuel.(stock is around 40) A fuel management unit adjust the fuel pressure, but at a riseing rate as boost comes on. The probablem with that is when you boost theres a lean spot where the boost causes the pressure to increase. It needs an amount of boost (1-3 psi or so) to tell it to increase pressure, and once your pushing 1-3 psi into your moto it starts to lean out. You wouldnt need a fmu on a chipped or hacked ecu.
