No resistors

A kid I know said he is running DSM injectors without resistors or a box on his 00 SI. Then he showed them to me, so I know he isn't lying. Aren't Si's saturated too? He said he hasn't had any problems with them. Can anybody do this or is this a fluke?

yeah, they are saturated also. hrrrmmmmmmmm...... i don't know about that are you sure the were dsm 450's or some other kind of 450, or even 450's??

Re:No resistors

They either aren't DSM450's, He has a resistor box or resistors hidden somewhere, or he's a few days away from frying his injector drivers. Those are the only 3 possible scenarios.

If he is using 450cc injectors without resistors, keep us updated on his progress =)

Re:No resistors

ive heard of thenm working but you will burn up the injector drivers in your ecu. thats the whole purpose of the resistors

Re:No resistors

Yeah, you need resistors or the driver will see the injector as a 'short'. Since the impedence on DSM's is close to 3 ohms and your stocks are 12.8 a significant difference in current pull is evident. Eventually, you will overheat the driver circuitry by pulling 4 times the current through them and start to cry :'(

Do it right the first time

I totally agree, I was shocked and awed when he popped the hood and showed me thos DSM's sitting there with no resistors. Apparently he's been running them like that for a couple months. It must be a fluke then.
