Default No power

Ok here is my setup

14b td05h
12:1 fmu
7 psi
a/f & boost gauge
vx manifold
custom 2 1/4 downpipe with gutted cat
d15b7 (93 dx 102hp)
stock timing
front mount intercooler
2.5 piping after cooler
1.5 to 2.5 to cooler

before i went turbo i could chirp the tires taking of, but now i just dont seem to have the low end power. also if im half throttle my car bogs and the air fuel shows in the orange stoich, but if i gas it it goes green and picks up, sounds like a fuel problem i guess but just want to see what you gys think. but its really bugging me not having any low end power, is this normal?

Thanks in advance

yeah sounds kinda normal. In low rpms the turbo isnt pushing too much air into the engine because it is acting as a restriction. So, say your in first pushing the gas at like 2000 rpm, without the turbo the tbody would just open up and suck all the air through the filter that it could. But now that the turbo is in when the tbody opens up to suck in air it has to go through all your piping then through the turbo then it finally reaches the filter. Big restriction huh? You just have to get used to driving it a little more. If you want a ton of power at start up you have to keep revving the engine until you get some boost and then drop the clutch (insert major rubber laying action here). Good luck to you

OK thanks, i just read that the turbo is suppose to give you alot more torque, more than a gsr and it just doesnt seem that way.

all depends on how you rev it. Are you running rich in the lower rpm's. Try messing with your afc in the lower rpm band and see how it goes for you. Just lower the fuel until it barely starts to detonate (listen hard, any detonation can hurt your engine) and work from there. Just a possible answer for you

the turbo does act as a restrcition one way to help offset that a little is to buy a by-pass bov it will let the car suck a little air and bypass the turbo until u start making boost..and dont forget that fmu is prob. making u run rich up high, and running to rich will make u lose power...but on the other hand to lean..well we all know what happens then

you just have to launch at higher rpms, you have less hp / torque at the low end depending on what turbo you have (the bigger the less low end but more high end). turbo lag is just a nice way of giving the n/a suckers a head start.
